Men's Volleyball Heads to No. 10 Ball State For MIVA Semifinals

The No. 20 Lindenwood men's volleyball team (15-11, 9-7 MIVA) rides a seven-game winning streak into the MIVA semifinals taking on No. 10 Ball State (21-9, 13-3 MIVA) on Thursday evening at 6:00 p.m. CT in Muncie, Ind.

FIRST SERVE
  • The Lions enter the MIVA semifinals on a seven-game winning streak, coming off a 3-0 seep of No. 19 Purdue Fort Wayne last Saturday.
  • During the streak, the Lions have dropped a total of four sets.
  • Lindenwood hit .540 in the match against the Mastodons.
  • Ian Schuller paced the Lions with 14 kills, hitting .600.
  • A.J. Lewis and Clay Wieter each had double digit kills with 10 apiece.
  • Lindenwood is looking to win its first game against Ball State this season as the Cardinals have won the first two.
  • The Lions are also looking for their first-ever appearance in the MIVA Championship game.
  • Lindenwood enters the matchup ranked No. 19, a season high.
  • Ball State comes in with its highest ranking at No .10.
  • Head coach Joe Kosciw enters his seventh season at the helm of the program and his 11th at Lindenwood.
2024 OUTLOOK
The Lindenwood men's volleyball team currently has 13 matchups against ranked teams on its 2024 schedule. The squad was picked to finished sixth in the Midwest Intercollegiate Volleyball Association Preseason Poll earning 41 points. Lindenwood returns key pieces to their lineup for 2024, including A.J. Lewis, RaShawn Bonner, and Ian Schuller, who all garnered all-conference honors a year ago. Lewis was named to the preseason all-MIVA team for the upcoming year. Last season, Lewis led the team with 39 service aces and was second on the team with 249 digs.

If the Lions win, they will advance to the MIVA Championship game and face the winner of Loyola Chicago and Ohio State on Saturday, April 20.
