Men's Volleyball Closes Out Regular Season With Two Matches Against Queens

The Lindenwood men's volleyball team (12-11, 7-7 MIVA) closes out the regular season with a pair of matches on the road against Queens (9-17, 2-12 MIVA). First serve on Thursday is set for 5:00 p.m. CT, while Saturday's match is set for 1:00 p.m. CT.

FIRST SERVE
  • Lindenwood is coming off a 2-0 week, with wins over Purdue Fort Wayne and No. 9 Ohio State last week.
  • The win over the Buckeyes marked the fifth win over a ranked team this season and the first against a squad inside the top 10.
  • Overall, Lindenwood enters the weekend on a four-game winning streak.
  • The black and gold held Purdue Fort Wayne to a .125 hitting percentage, while Ohio State hit .290.
  • As a result, Ian Schuller was named MIVA Defensive Player of the Week
  • The Downers Grove, Ill. native tallied 17 digs across the two matches, good for 2.43 per set.
  • He also compiled 11 receptions with just one error.
  • This will be the first-ever meeting between Lindenwood and Queens
  • The Royals are currently 9-17 with a 2-12 mark against MIVA foes, their first season in the conference.
  • Lindenwood will look to close out the regular season strong and potentially secure a top four seed in the MIVA Tournament. The Lions are currently a game out of a three-way tie for fourth.
  • Head coach Joe Kosciw enters his seventh season at the helm of the program and his 11th at Lindenwood.
2024 OUTLOOK
The Lindenwood men's volleyball team currently has 11 matchups against ranked teams on its 2024 schedule. The squad was picked to finished sixth in the Midwest Intercollegiate Volleyball Association Preseason Poll earning 41 points. Lindenwood returns key pieces to their lineup for 2024, including A.J. Lewis, RaShawn Bonner, and Ian Schuller, who all garnered all-conference honors a year ago. Lewis was named to the preseason all-MIVA team for the upcoming year. Last season, Lewis led the team with 39 service aces and was second on the team with 249 digs.
