Clay Wieter of the Lindenwood men's volleyball team was named Defensive Player of the Week, the conference announced Tuesday. This is Wieter's second weekly honor of the season after being named Offensive Player of the Week on March 13.
The St. Louis, Mo. native had a solid all-around week, guiding his team to two wins over Queens. In those matches, Wieter compiled 22 digs, including a career-high 18 in a four-set win on Saturday. He averaged 3.14.
Wieter also tallied 25 receptions without an error during the week. He was also a threat offensively, hitting .333. The redshirt junior averaged 3.43 kills per set, while tallying six service aces in a 2-0 week.
Wieter and the rest of the Lions will be back in action this Saturday, hosting Purdue Fort Wayne in the quarterfinal of the MIVA Tournament on Saturday at 6:00 p.m. in Hyland Arena
