Women's Basketball Inks Three on National Signing Day

Lindenwood women's basketball head coach Amy Eagan announced the addition of three high school signees on Wednesday as a part of National Signing Day. Brenna Rucker, Savannah Stricker and Kate Wernli will all join the 2026-27 roster.

"We are thrilled to welcome Kate, Savannah, and Brenna to the Lindenwood family," said head coach Amy Eagan.  "Each of them brings a unique skill set and competitive drive that will elevate our program on and off the court. They embody the values and work ethic we look for in future Lions."

Brenna Rucker | 5-9 | Guard | Eureka | Eureka, Kan,
Rucker was a two-sport athlete who played basketball and volleyball at Eureka High School in Eureka, Kan., where she was a two-time All-League selection on the basketball court. The 5-9 guard was an All-State first, second, and honorable mention honoree. In volleyball, she was All-League and All-State and led her team to the state tournament in both sports. During her junior year, she averaged 19.2 points, 8.4 rebounds, and 3.6 assists.

"Brenna brings a winning mentality and strong all-around game to Lindenwood," said Eagan She is a competitor with a scorer's mentality, but also has great court vision. Her work ethic, consistency and competitiveness will immediately bolster the team's presence on both ends of the floor."

Savannah Stricker | 5-10 | Guard | Incarnate Word Academy | St. Louis, Mo.
Stricker comes to Lindenwood from one of the most successful high school programs in the country in Incarnate Word Academy. During her time with the Red Knights, Stricker was a three-time State Champion and a two-time team captain, while also being named a second team all-conference selection. The 5-10 guard shot 54 percent from the field, including 31 percent from beyond the arc. She averaged 5.7 rebounds and 4 assists per game and is currently third all-time in single-season free throw percentage. Stricker played her club ball for Napheesa Collier Eliete.

"Savannah is a very versatile kid, with a high IQ, that will do whatever she needs to do to help her team win." Said Eagan.  "She is probably one of the best passers we have recruited. This along with her ability to defend multiple positions makes her very valuable to our backcourt."

Kate Wernli | 5-9 | Guard | Bixby | Bixby. Okla.
Wernli has scored over 1,100 points so far during her time at Bixby High School where she has averaged 15 points and 5 rebounds per game. Wernli was named the 2024-25 District Offensive Player of the Year, while being a two-time All-District selection and a three-time Tulsa World All-State honoree. The 5-9 guard brings a winning pedigree to Lindenwood as her team has qualified for state in each of her first three years.

Kate is a versatile scorer with a high IQ and amazing work ethic," said Eagan. Couple this with her ability to extend the defense and to be crafty around the rim, makes her a tough matchup for the defense.  We expect she will make an immediate impact in our backcourt.
