Lindenwood will be looking to end the season strong with a pair of road games against Alaska Anchorage. The Lions are coming off a series split with Fairbanks at home last weekend. Tha Black and Gold got the powerplay going with three total goals in two games, including a pair in Saturday's win. The Lions scored first in both games, moving their record to 5-7-1 on such occasions.Â
Patrick Schmiedlin continued his strong play to end the season with two more goals against Fairbanks last weekend and now has nine points in 12 games.
Owen Bartoszkiewicz stood tall in net, making 38 and 39 saves in both games. The Northville, Mich. native has made 804 saves and has compiled a .921 save percentage to go along with a 2.57 goals against average.Â
This will be the fifth and sixth time that the Seawolves and Lions have met on the ice with Lindenwood looking for its first win in the series history as it sits at 0-3-1. Two of the three looses have been by one or two goals.Â
With at least a split against the Seawolves, the Lions would guarantee their most wins in the Division I era with eight. The Lions have five wins on the road so far this season.Â
Key Players to Watch for the Seawolves
Ryan Johnson leads the team in points with 23, coming from 11 goals and 12 assists. The 12 assists rank third on the team. Dimitry Kebreau paces the team with 15 helpers, while ranking second on the team in points with 21. Former Lindenwood ACHA player Max Helgeson ranks third on the team in points with 18. Gunnar VanDame leads the defensive effort with 49 blocks. Tyler Krivstov has a 2.99 goals against average and a .897 save percentage. Greg Orosz leads the Seawolves with four wins between the pipes.Â
