ST. CHARLES, MO. – On Wednesday, NCAA Division I Independent Hockey announced their monthly awards winners. Three individuals from the Lindenwood men's ice hockey program were recognized as players of the month for their play in January.
David Gagnon was tabbed player of the month. Gagnon tallied nine points (2g-7a) in eight games, won 69 face offs, and tied his game high this season in points versus Stonehill (1/10), registering one goal and two assists in a 3-0 win versus the Skyhawks.
Noah Houle was recognized as the rookie of the month. Houle was second on the team in points in January with seven (3g-4a), just two points behind Gagnon. Houle scored his first career goal in January against Stonehill (1/10). The Montreal native also scored two big juice goals in a 3-2 win over Notre Dame (1/24).
For the fourth time this season,
Owen Bartoszkiewicz was picked as the goalie of the month. Bartoszkiewicz stopped 209 shots in seven games played, for a save percentage of .933, and registering a 2.13 goals against average.
