Lindenwood softball returns to the Lou Brock Sports Complex this weekend for a three-game series in Ohio Valley Conference play against the Lady Tigers of Tennessee State. Coming into the weekend, Lindenwood is 3-3 in OVC play after winning their first conference series of the season at UT Martin last weekend.
Tennessee State is 3-2 on the season in OVC play. Last weekend at home against Southern Indiana, the Lady Tigers went 1-1 after their third and final game was canceled due to weather. TSU is currently 3-5 on the road this season while Lindenwood is 6-6 at home.
Lindenwood is looking for their first ever win against Tennessee State posting a career-record of 0-7. In three games last season on the road in Nashville, Lindenwood lost a pair of one-run games before losing the final game of the series by a final score of 6-3. This weekend's series starts on Friday, March 21st at 4:00 p.m. CT.

Lindenwood softball (12-13, 3-3 OVC) dropped their lone midweek game of the week against cross-town opponent Saint Louis (10-16, 0-3 A10) by a final score of 11-3 in six innings. The Lions scored all three of their runs in the first inning after
Jolie McMinn hit her fourth home run of the season.
Lindenwood's offense jumped out the gate early in the first inning scoring all three of their runs in the top half.
Anna Sanders led off the game with a walk and
Nicole Henson followed with a sac bunt putting runners on first and second. McMinn hit her fourth home run of the season to left field to put the Lions up top 3-0.
Saint Louis was able to tie the game in the bottom half of the inning with three runs of their own on three hits. Abby Mallo matched McMinn with a three-run home run to tie the game heading into the second.
After a scoreless second inning, the Billikens added a run in the bottom of the third after a double to left center field off of
Ryleigh Owens. Saint Louis tacked on three more runs in the fifth inning off of Owens to make the score 8-3.
Samantha Roulanaitis came into pitch in the fifth and recorded a strikeout to get out of the inning.
Kylee Crowder added her first hit in a Lindenwood uniform in the top of the sixth but was stranded at first base. The Billikens were able to get three more runs in the sixth inning off of Roulanaitis ending the game with a final score of 11-3. Lindenwood scored three runs on six hits with one error while SLU scored 11 runs on 12 hits with no errors.
OVC Preseason Poll
The Redhawks of Southeast Missouri State were selected as the 2025 Preseason favorite, garnering nine first-place votes and finishing with 152 points after claiming the OVC Tournament Championship last season. They were followed by Southern Indiana who received six first-place votes (140 points) and 2024 OVC Regular Season Champion Eastern Illinois with five first-place votes (139 points).
Tennessee State follows the top three ranking fourth with 107 points followed by Tennessee Tech (82), Lindenwood (80), UT Martin (74), SIUE (73), Morehead State (30) and Western Illinois (23). There are a total of 27 conference games this season with each team playing the other schools three times.

Head Coach Erin Brown
Erin Brown is entering her fourth season as the head coach of the Lindenwood softball team in 2025.
Brown led the Lions to an OVC Tournament appearance after guiding Lindenwood to a 25-25 record. Lindenwood had an impressive home record in 2024 going 12-5 at Lou Brock Sports Complex.
Irelynn West earned First Team All-conference honors while
Amanda Weyh earned Second Team. Under Brown, the Lions swept cross-town rivals Saint Louis in two games during a home-and-home series. The Lions went 13-14 in OVC play. Brown also coached five CSC Academic All-District players.
In 2023, the Lions went 16-32, including an 8-15 mark against OVC competition. Lindenwood finished with a winning record at home (12-10) and swept eventual conference champion Eastern Illinois late in the year at Lou Brock Sports Complex.
Irelynn West and
Dallis Darnell earned all-conference honors with West being a second-team selection and Darnell being named to the all-newcomer team.
