ST. CHARLES, Mo. - The 2024-25 Academic All-District® Women's Basketball teams, selected by College Sports Communicators, recognize the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performances on the court and in the classroom.
Brooke Coffey and
Gracy Wernli from Lindenwood women's basketball earned this honor for the 2024-25 season.
A Sports Management major, Coffey transferred from Illinois State after her sophomore season. She currently has a 3.83 GPA including a 3.80 Fall 2024 grade-point average. Coffey is currently the Lions second leading scorer after averaging 10.9 points per game. Earlier this season, she was selected to the All-Ohio Valley Conference Second and Newcomer Team.
Coffey is one of three Lions to play in all 33 games this season. She has helped lead the Lindenwood Lions to a berth in the WNIT after finishing in second in the OVC. Coffey has 23 double-figure scoring games including four straight. She scored a career-high 20 points in the OVC Championship game vs. Tennessee Tech.
Wernli is also a transfer from Abilene Christian who is in her first season at Lindenwood. A biology major, Wernli posted a Fall 2024 GPA of 3.93 while holding a cumulative GPA of 3.94. Wernli is also one of three Lions to start and play in all 33 games this season. She is the third leading scorer averaging 10.5 points per game.
Wernli is shooting 42.4% from the floor and 34.7% from three. She is also one of Lindenwood's best free-throw shooters going 79-88 at the line this season (89.8%). Against Southern Indiana on ESPNU, Wernli scored a career-high 23 points while going 6-10 from the floor and 5-8 from three-point range. Her 50 threes are second on the team.
Wernli and Coffey will continue play on Wednesday, March 26th when they take on Louisiana Tech during the Super 16 of the WNIT. For more information go to lindenwoodlions.com.
