Men's Volleyball Heads to No. 6 Loyola Chicago For Two Matches

The Lindenwood men's volleyball team (7-12, 4-7 MIVA) hit the road for a pair of matches with No. 6 Loyola Chicago (17-2, 8-2 MIVA) on Thursday and Friday. Both matches are scheduled for 7:00 p.m.

FIRST SERVE
  • The Lions are coming off a 3-1 win over Purdue Fort Wayne on Saturday to finish off the season sweep of the Mastodons
  • Jacob Christopher led the way with a career-high 18 kills, while swinging .424. He also led the team with three blocks during the match
  • The St. Louis, Mo. native finished the week with 35 kills in two matches and averaged 3.89 kills per set
  • The Lions were dominant from the service line against Purdue Fort Wayne, compiling 14 aces as a team
  • Carter Stenmark had seven of those, including four-straight in the third set to give Lindenwood some cushion
  • Other leaders included Zach Solomon with 45 assists and Lincoln Geist with 10 digs
  • Loyola Chicago enters the matchup with a record of 17-2 and have won four in a row after taking down Ohio State and CSUN this past weekend
  • The Ramblers are currently ranked No. 6 in the AVCA Poll
  • The Lions have never beaten Loyola Chicago on the road in the series history and have four wins overall
  • Head coach Joe Kosciw enters his eighth season at the helm of the program and his 12th at Lindenwood.
2025 OUTLOOK
The Lindenwood men's volleyball team currently has 13 matchups against ranked teams on its 2025 schedule. The squad was picked to finished sixth in the Midwest Intercollegiate Volleyball Association Preseason Poll earning 38 points. Ian Schuller returns for the Lions. A year ago, Schuller earned Defensive Player of the Week honors one time during the year and his 183 digs led the team. He compiled 319 kills during the season, second most on the team on his way to garnering second-team all-conference honors.
