Lindenwood softball will travel right across the Mississippi River to Edwardsville, Ill. for a three-game series against the SIUE Cougars starting on Friday, March 28th at 3:00 p.m. CT. The series was originally set for a double header on Saturday and a single game on Sunday, but due to weather the games have been moved for a double header on Friday and a single game on Saturday.
The Lions enter the weekend with a 4-5 conference record good for fifth in the conference. SIUE leads the pack with a 8-1 conference record and a 17-12 overall record. Lindenwood has a 2-4 record all-time against SIUE but won the last two games in a home series during the 2024 season.
Game times are set for 3:00 p.m. CT on Friday and 2:00 p.m. CT on Saturday. After this weekend, the Lions will have six straight home Ohio Valley Conference games starting with SEMO next weekend followed by three-games against the Leathernecks of Western Illinois.
Tennessee State Recap
Lindenwood went 1-2 last weekend at Lou Brock against the Lady Tigers of Tennessee State. In a 10-inning game to start the series, the Lions were able to pull off the 6-5 win after a
Nicole Henson walk-of winner. The Lions would drop the double header the next day with scores of 8-7 (9 inn.) and 8-5.
Jolie McMinn was the Lions best hitter over the last three games hitting .583 with seven hits and five RBI. Henson also was at the top of the Lions order hitting .538 with seven hits and three RBI. Both McMinn and Henson are on five game hitting steaks. The shortstop
Madisen Noll also hit .417 with five hits.
Ryleigh Owens on the mound went 1-1 appearing in two games posting a 3.94 ERA. Over 10.2 innings, the junior allowing eight runs (six earned) on four hits while striking out 10.
Samantha Roulanaitis had a 0.00 ERA in two games allowing five unearned runs on seven hits with five strikeouts.
OVC Preseason Poll
The Redhawks of Southeast Missouri State were selected as the 2025 Preseason favorite, garnering nine first-place votes and finishing with 152 points after claiming the OVC Tournament Championship last season. They were followed by Southern Indiana who received six first-place votes (140 points) and 2024 OVC Regular Season Champion Eastern Illinois with five first-place votes (139 points).
Tennessee State follows the top three ranking fourth with 107 points followed by Tennessee Tech (82), Lindenwood (80), UT Martin (74), SIUE (73), Morehead State (30) and Western Illinois (23). There are a total of 27 conference games this season with each team playing the other schools three times.

Head Coach Erin Brown
Erin Brown is entering her fourth season as the head coach of the Lindenwood softball team in 2025.
Brown led the Lions to an OVC Tournament appearance after guiding Lindenwood to a 25-25 record. Lindenwood had an impressive home record in 2024 going 12-5 at Lou Brock Sports Complex.
Irelynn West earned First Team All-conference honors while
Amanda Weyh earned Second Team. Under Brown, the Lions swept cross-town rivals Saint Louis in two games during a home-and-home series. The Lions went 13-14 in OVC play. Brown also coached five CSC Academic All-District players.
In 2023, the Lions went 16-32, including an 8-15 mark against OVC competition. Lindenwood finished with a winning record at home (12-10) and swept eventual conference champion Eastern Illinois late in the year at Lou Brock Sports Complex.
Irelynn West and
Dallis Darnell earned all-conference honors with West being a second-team selection and Darnell being named to the all-newcomer team.
