ST. CHARLES, Mo. - Lindenwood women's rugby (8-1) is set to host the semi-final round of the 2025 D1 Elite Playoffs on Saturday, April 12th against Central Washington University (3-4) at Hunter Stadium at 10:00 a.m. CT. The Lions enter the field as the number two seed while the Wildcats finished as the three seed.

"It's been a long year filled with adversity, but this group has shown remarkable grit and resilience every step of the way," said head coach Trevor Locke. "Facing Central Washington University for the second time this season presents a unique challenge. We secured a win in our first meeting, but it's always tough to beat a team twice. We're excited for the opportunity and ready to put our best performance on the field."

Lindenwood has not played since Saturday, March 29th when they picked up an impressive win against Life University on the road. Coming into Saturday's action, the Lions have a 2-1 record at home including back-to-back wins against BYU and Southern Nazarene.

Earlier this season, the Lions posted a 41-15 win against Central Washington on Saturday, March 8th in Ellensburg, Wash. After leading 12-10 early in the game, the Lions pulled away at the 57th minute making it 24-10 as the Lions cruised to victory.

In the history of the D1A Championship, Lindenwood had previously won five straight championships before losing out to Life University in a tightly contested match last year by a final score of 44-41. The winner of this game will play in the Championship against the winner of Life and BYU on Saturday, April 19th.
