The Lions conclude an Illinois road trip with a midweek matchup with Southern Illinois in Carbondale, Ill. Lindenwood is coming off a series win against Western Illinois last weekend, taking two out of three from the Leathernecks. The Black and Gold now sit an 9-8 in conference play, good for fifth place.

Lindenwood's pitching was fantastic all weekend long with Josh Newell, Ethan Smith, and Eli Brown all picking up quality starts. For Newell, it was his fifth consecutive outing with at least six innings pitched and giving up three earned runs or less. Smith went 7.2 innings, while giving up just one run and striking out eight. Newell went on to earn OVC Pitcher of the Week recognition.

These two teams met earlier this season with the Salukis picking up a 3-0 win on April 1. SIU enters the matchup with a record of 30-13, including a 12-6 mark inside conference play. They have gone 19-7 at home
