On Tuesday morning, the Ohio Valley Conference announced the Men's Soccer Player Of The Week winners.
Quinn Closson and
Mikey Lennon were named the Goalkeeper and Defender of the week, respectively.
Closson, who has won the award for the third time this season, had his sixth clean sheet of the season on Saturday at SIUE. The Graduate Student from Connecticut had three saves in the 2-0 win over the Cougars, which moved his season total to 31. Closson ranks first in the OVC in several categories, including save percentage (.939) Goals Against Average (.26), and shutouts (6). His .939 save percentage, .26 GAA, and six shutouts all rank third overall in the country among all goalkeepers in the Nation.
Lennon, who is the fifth Lion to receive an OVC player of the week honor in 2025, anchored a Lindenwood defense that allowed just three shots on goal on Saturday evening. The defense as a whole ranks 11th in the country in goals against average (0.444) and ranks eighth in the country in shots allowed per game (17.11).
The Lions will return to action on Thursday afternoon as they travel to Charleston, Illinois to take on the Eastern Illinois Panthers in their second OVC game of the season. Kick off is set for 3 p.m.
