The Ohio Valley Conference released their latest Men's Basketball Player Of The Weeks this morning and Sophomore Dontrez Williams from Lindenwood Men's Basketball was named the OVC Newcomer of the Week. Williams averaged 20.5 points per game across two games for the Lions, scoring 20 points in Thursday's victory over Morehead State and followed that with a career-high 21 point performance against Southern Indiana to help Lindenwood improve to 4-0 in conference play. The 6'5 Guard from Sikeston, Missouri shot 56.7% (17-30) from the floor in 72 minutes played and knocked down 50% (4-8) of his three point attempts for the week. His four three pointers made led all Lindenwood players for the week. 

In 12 games played this season, Williams has scored in double figures in 10 games and has scored 20 or more points in three games. He is shooting 48.2% from the field and 38.9% from three point range. Defensively, Williams is tied for the team lead in steals with 24, and is third on the team in blocked shots with 10. The Lions return to action tomorrow night at SIUE with tip off scheduled for 7:30 p.m.
