Last Time Out
Lindenwood Men's Basketball won their 10th game of the season and improved to 4-0 in the Ohio Valley Conference with an 83-80 victory over Southern Indiana inside of Hyland Arena on Saturday afternoon, keeping a perfect record in tact on their home floor (7-0). Milos Nenadic scored a game-high 22 points on 9-14 shooting and grabbed nine rebounds, while Dontrez Williams scored a career-high 21 points, including 16 of his 21 coming in the second half. Anias Futrell scored 19 points and connected on two three point attempts, and Robert Lewis recorded his third double-double of the season scoring 12 points and grabbing a game-high 12 rebounds. The Lions led by as many as 11 points in the contest and had several nine point leads in the second half, but the Screaming Eagles responded every time the Lions tried to pull away. With six seconds to go, Lindenwood had a three point lead and USI had a chance to tie the game at the buzzer off a missed free throw, but the shot was no good as the Lions hung on to win the game.

Scouting The Cougars
SIUE is 2-2 in the OVC with wins over Western Illinois on the road and Southern Indiana at home. In their most recent matchup, the Cougars fell 73-72 on their home floor to Morehead State after the Eagles made a late run in the second half. SIUE is led in scoring by Senior Guard/Forward Ring Malith, who is averaging 17 points per game and is shooting 47.7% from the floor and 32.9% from three point range. Malith has scored in double digits in 12 of 14 games played this season and scored a season-high 31 points at North Florida in the Cougars 72-63 win. He has scored 20 or more points in two of his three games played in conference play as well, but did not see action against Morehead State on Saturday. SIUE ranks second in the OVC defensively in points per game and field goal percentage, holding their opponents to 66.13 points per game and limiting them to 40.1% from the floor.

The Lions have a 1-5 record all-time against SIUE, with their only win coming last season in Hyland Arena by a score of 65-63. Jadis Jones scored 11 points on 3-6 shooting in the win over the Cougars last season, while Anias Futrell added 10 points and nine rebounds in 31 minutes of action. The game on Tuesday will feature the top offensive team in the league going up against one of the best defensive teams in the league.
