Grib and Johnson Earn OVC Player of the Week Honors

Grib named Defensive Player of the Week, Johnson named Setter of the Week

BRENTWOOD, Tenn. – A pair Lindenwood women's volleyball players have earned Ohio Valley Conference weekly honors following strong performances against Eastern Illinois on Friday and Saturday.

Dana Grib won her first OVC Defensive Player of the Week award after totaling 28 digs in two matches against EIU, posting a team-high 14 in each contest for an average of 4.67 digs per set. She recorded her 1,000th career dig in the first set of Saturday's match, becoming the eighth Lindenwood player in the NCAA era (since 2011) to achieve that milestone.

Meanwhile, Kaci Johnson brings home her fourth Setter of the Week award after dishing out a total of 77 assists, averaging 12.83 assists per set and helping the Lions to a .333 hitting percentage on the weekend. On Friday, she handed out 34 helpers (11.33 APS) while adding three kills, three service aces, and four blocks before recording 43 assists (14.33 APS) on Saturday, which was the most assists in a three-set match by an OVC player this season. Johnson also registered five kills and came just short of a double-double with nine digs in the contest.

Lindenwood is off to their first 4-0 start in OVC play since joining the conference in 2022 and travels to Cape Girardeau this weekend for a battle atop the conference standings against Southeast Missouri. Match one is scheduled for 6:00 p.m. on Friday, October 9th with match two following on Saturday at 2:00 p.m.
