On Tuesday morning, the Ohio Valley Conference announced its latest Player of the Week honors for Men's Soccer. Appearing on the list for the first time was Lindenwood's Clement Baron, who was named the OVC Defender of the Week for his performances in a pair of OVC matches against Incarnate Word and Houston Christian. The Lions have now had four different players earn a weekly award during the 2026 season, with Baron joining teammates Quinn Closson, Luke Neely, and Luca Bartoni.

Baron played all 180 minutes throughout the week and led a Lindenwood backline that posted its sixth shutout of the season in Thursday afternoon's 2-0 victory over Incarnate Word, marking the Lions' first OVC win of the season. The fifth-year defender from France was part of a defense that allowed just two shots on goal in the win over the Cardinals.

Baron followed up the shutout performance with another strong match on Sunday, anchoring a defense that limited HCU to just one shot on goal and scoring the equalizing goal for Lindenwood in the 75th minute to secure a point in the OVC standings for the Black and Gold. The goal was Baron's first of the season, bringing him to three points on the 2026 campaign.

Baron and the rest of the Lions will return to action on Thursday night at home against UTRGV. Kickoff is set for 7 p.m. CT on ESPN+.
