LEADING OFF
The Lindenwood baseball team travels to Illinois for a midweek contest against the Fighting Illini on Wednesday afternoon. The game, scheduled for 3:00 p.m. in Champaign, was added to the schedule and announced on Monday.

QUICK HITTERS

• Lindenwood enters this week with an overall record of 4-3 after taking two of three against St. Thomas at home last weekend.
• Pitching has been the strength for LU in the early going, with the Lions combining for a 2.93 ERA and a pair of shutouts. Lindenwood has allowed over two runs in just two of their first seven games.
• Offensively, the Lions are hitting .233 with eight doubles and two home runs. Freshman Will Geary has had the hot bat early on, hitting .429 (12 H – 28 AB) with two doubles and a triple.

• Illinois pitchers have a combined ERA of 4.94, striking out 56 batters while surrendering 51 hits and 19 walks.

SERIES HISTORY
Wednesday will be the first all-time meeting between the Lions and Illini. It will also be the Lindenwood baseball program's first ever contest against a Big 10 opponent.
