Last Time Out
The Lions began conference play with two wins over UT Martin last weekend winning both games in extra innings. Jolie McMinn delivered a walk-off double to left field in the bottom of thr 10th inning in the series opener as Lindenwood improved to 1-0 in the OVC for the first time in the Division I Era. Emily Geary and Tori Hatton each collected two hits in the 6-5 win over the Skyhawks, while Avery Wapp won her fourth game of the season as the Senior from Bloomington, Ill pitched 2.2 innings of relief as she didn't allow a single hit or run while striking out six which tied her season-high. After dropping the second game 9-6, the Lions defeated UTM in the series finale on a walk off double down the right field line from Anna Sanders in the bottom of the eighth inning to win the series. Ryleigh Owens picked up her third win of the season pitching 3.2 innings out of the bullpen and allowing three hits on one run and one strikeout. Wapp started the game and recorded a season-high nine strikeouts, and the Lions rallied from down 6-4 and scored three runs in the bottom of the sixth behind a two-run double from Madisen Noll and an RBI single up the middle from Sanders. 

Scouting the Opposition
  • The Gophers are 8-15 on the season and are coming off two losses to Indiana in their BIG 10 opening series
  • Junior Utility player Tara Wolocko leads Minnesota with six home runs and 16 RBI on the 2026 season.
