Avery Wapp finished the game for the Lions by throwing 1.1 innings and adding two more strikeouts to her season and career totals. Wapp picked up her first save of the season as she entered the contest with the bases loaded in the top of the fourth inning and the tying run at the plate. Wapp needed just three pitches to end the Bradley threat and kept Lindenwood in front by a score of 5-1.
Anna Sanders would end the game for LU in the bottom of the fifth as she hit a two-run double to center field to send the Lions home with a 9-1 win in game two of the doubleheader.Â
