Baseball Travels to Martin for First Road Test of OVC Play

LEADING OFF
The Lindenwood baseball team travels to UT Martin this weekend with both teams in search of their first conference wins of the 2026 season. The Lions are 7-3 all-time against the Skyhawks with a 2-1 record in Martin. The Lions have won six straight in the series, most recently taking a 6-5 victory in last season's OVC Tournament.

LAST TIME OUT
Lindenwood closed out their nine-game homestand with a dominant 10-4 victory over Missouri at the Lou Brock Sports Complex on Friday night. After falling behind 2-0 in the top of the first, the Lions shutout the Tigers for the next six innings while scoring nine unanswered runs to build a comfortable advantage.

The Lindenwood bats collected nine hits, with Will Geary, Jake Radosevich, and Tanner Simpson each registering two knocks.

Radosevich also drove in a pair of runs to match Tyler Ellis for the team lead in the contest.Five Lions saw action on the mound, headlined by Tanner Paschke, who allowed just one hit and no runs with a pair of strikeouts through 3.2 innings of relief work to pick up his first win of the season.

NOTES TO KNOW
  • Lindenwood enters this weekend with an overall record of 11-13 with a 3-5 record on the road. 
  • The Lions lead the OVC with a team ERA of 4.10 with a conference-leading four shutouts. They are limiting their opponents to a batting average of .252, which is third lowest in the conference.
  • Seth Benes leads LU starters with a 1.73 ERA through 36.1 innings pitched. He leads the club with 32 strikeouts while holding opposing batters to a .177 average.
  • The Lindenwood bullpen is headlined by Aaron Jungers, who is 3-0 on the season with a save. He has a 0.42 ERA with 22 strikeouts while limiting opponents to a .167 batting average.
  • LU is batting .242 this season, which is the lowest average in the OVC.
  • Jake Radosevich paces the club in RBI (25), home runs (5), slugging percentage (.530), and OPS (.937). 
  • Charlie Isom-McCall and Will Geary are tied for the team lead in hits with 25 apiece. Geary paces the team with 14 stolen bases,  followed by Isom-McCall and Kam Edwards with 13 stolen bags.
  • Lindenwood's 61 total stolen bases are second most in the OVC, trailing only UT Martin (68).
SCOUTING THE SKYHAWKS
  • UT Martin enters this weekend with an overall record of 11-13 with a 0-3 mark in conference. The Skyhawks picked up an 8-2 win over Southern Illinois on Tuesday after getting swept on the road at SEMO to begin OVC play.
  • UTM is batting .303 as a team, which is third best in the OVC. They have the third most hits (160) but the fewest walks (93). The Skykawks lead the league with 62 stolen bases on 82 attempts.
  • UTM has five players batting north of .300, including TJ Dunsford, who is batting .322 and leads the team in RBIs (30) and homers (5). TJ Grines leads the club with 10 doubles and a conference-high 25 stolen bases while batting .324.
  • The Skyhawks have a team ERA of 6.48, which is sixth in the OVC. Jacob Sitton is 2-1 with a 2.21 ERA. He has 34 strikeouts through 36.2 innings pitched and is allowing a .243 batting average against.

Lindenwood heads to Carbondale for a midweek contest against Southern Illinois on Tuesday at 6:00 p.m. before returning home to host SEMO for a three-game set on Easter Weekend. Game one against the Redhawks is scheduled for 5:00 p.m. on Thursday, April 2nd.
