Last Time Out
The Lindenwood Softball team got back into the win column on Wednesday night with a 1-0 shutout victory over Saint Louis at home. Samantha Roulanaitis pitched a complete game for the Lions, and carried a no-hitter into the sixth inning. Roulanaitis ended the game by allowing just one hit and recording three strikeouts to pick up her second win of the 2026 season. Offensively, Lindenwood had nine hits and were led by Madisen Noll and Anna Sanders who each went 2/3 at the plate. The only run of the game was scored in the bottom of the seventh inning when Sadie Sexauer was hit by a pitch with the bases loaded and two outs to end the game in walk-off fashion. The Lions will now return to Ohio Valley Conference play on Saturday afternoon as they will host the Southern Indiana Screaming Eagles beginning at 3 p.m. CT. 

Scouting the Opposition
  • Senior Outfielder Caroline Stapleton leads USI offensively with a .347 batting average. She also leads the Screaming Eagles in runs scored (22) and is tied for the team lead with 26 hits. 
  • USI is currently 7-2 in the OVC. They swept Tennessee State to open conference play, and have taken 2/3 from both Western Illinois and SEMO. 
  • Junior infielder Sydney Long has eight RBI through nine OVC games. Her eight RBI ranks tied for fifth in the OVC in conference games.
  • Southern Indiana has a team ERA of 2.15 in conference games and is led by Elly Robbins who is 4-0 with a 1.45 ERA in seven appearances.
