BRENTWOOD, Tenn. –
Jake Radosevich and
Aaron Jungers have both earned Ohio Valley Conference weekly honors following their spectacular performances at Iowa over the weekend, with Radosevich being named Player of the Week and Jungers tabbed Pitcher of the Week.
Jake Radosevich was a force at the plate for Lindenwood against the Hawkeyes, slugging 1.273 with three homers and a double while driving in eight total runs.
He recorded at least one hit in each of the Lions' three games, beginning with a two-run home run in Friday's series opener. On Saturday, Radosevich doubled before coming around to score what would end up as the game-winning run in LU's 4-3 victory.
However, his week was headlined by a two-home run, six RBI performance on Sunday as the senior matched his single-game career highs in both categories. Radosevich's second homer in the top of the ninth forced the game into extra innings.
He leads Lindenwood this season in batting average (.353), home runs (4), and RBIs (17).
Meanwhile,
Aaron Jungers was nearly perfect in Lindenwood's 4-3 win on Saturday, tossing five shutout innings in relief to finish the game and pick up his second win of the season.
The lefty allowed just two hits with no walks while striking out a career-high seven Hawkeyes. It was also the longest outing of his career, surpassing his previous high mark 4.1 innings pitched.
Jungers has now allowed just one earned run with 17 strikeouts through five appearances (16.1 IP) out of the pen this season.
Lindenwood is back in action with a pair of home games against Bradley this week. Game one against the Braves is scheduled for Tuesday at 3:00 p.m.
