The Lions won their 18th match of the season and ninth MIVA match last Saturday in a five set win over #20 Purdue Fort Wayne. Each team took turns alternating set wins, with the Lions taking the first, third, and fifth set while the Mastodons took the second and fourth sets.
Luke Kraft recorded his third straight match with 10 or more kills as the Junior Opposite Hitter had a team-high 15 kills and added a match-high six service aces to help the Lions pick up an important victory in the MIVA Standings.
Caden Whiteside and
Amir Grant both added 11 kills in the win over the Mastodons as Grant finished the match with a hitting percentage of .846 as he put down 11 kills on 13 total attempts to lead Lindenwood in that category. The Sophomore Middle Blocker also led the Lions with six blocks defensively, while
Lincoln Geist recorded a double-double by tying his season-high with 12 digs and adding 10 assists. The Lions have a magic number of two in order to be a top four seed in the MIVA and host a first round MIVA Tournament match on April 18.Â
Scouting The Flyers & Ramblers
Lewis is 14-11 overall on the 2026 season and has a MIVA record of 6-6. The Flyers are led offensively by Senior Outside Hitter Daniel Haber and Redshirt Sophomore Setter Cameron Hoying, who both have over 200 kills this season. Haber ranks third overall in the MIVA with 254 kills, while Hoying is seventh with 231. Hoying has picked up 10 or more kills in his last four matches played, while Haber has added 10 or more kills in five out of his last six matches played. The Lions swept the Flyers in the first matchup of the season back on February 6 in St. Charles thanks to
Luke Kraft's season-high .688 hitting percentage in which he finished with a match-high 12 kills.
Brendan Louthain added 11 to lead Lindenwood to a three set sweep over Lewis and a 2-0 MIVA record at the time.Â
Meanwhile, Loyola enters the week with an overall record of 15-6 and a MIVA record of 9-3. Junior Outside Hitter Daniel Fabikovic leads the Ramblers with 205 kills on the season, but four players for the 2026 Loyola squad have 100 or more kills making them a balanced team. Junior Middle Blocker Aidan Klein is among one of the four who has 100 or more kills, and is currently third in the nation in hitting percentage with a .509. The Ramblers are ranked ninth in the latest AVCA poll after picking up a four set win on the road at #16 Lewis last week. Lindenwood started off MIVA play 1-0 in the first matchup against the Ramblers who were ranked seventh at the time as the Lions won in four sets behind
