Lindenwood Men's Volleyball tied the Lindenwood NCAA Era record for wins in a single season last night by picking up their 19th win of the 2026 campaign in a 3-0 sweep over Northern Kentucky. Brendan Louthain had a match-high 11 kills on a hitting percentage of .529 in his first start since March 13, and Matt Muehlnickel recorded seven kills in his first career start to go along with six digs and two service aces. The Lions had 12 service aces as a team which was their most aces in a single match since March 28 against Purdue Fort Wayne, and were led by Louthain who finished with a match-high five aces. The victory over the Norse also marked Lindenwood's 10th MIVA win of the season which is the most in the Lindenwood NCAA Era (since 2012). 

Scouting The Buckeyes
Ohio State is coming off a five set win over McKendree on the road last night and sits a game back of Lindenwood for the three seed in the MIVA tournament which begins next Saturday. The Buckeyes are led by Senior Opposite Hitter Shane Wetzel who has 266 kills on the season. His 266 kills ranks in the top 10 overall in the MIVA this season and has had 10 or more kills in 15 out of 22 matches played. Defensively, OSU is led by Sophomore Libero Drew Hudson, who is averaging 2.10 digs per set which ranks third overall in the MIVA. Junior Middle Blocker Eliel Salva-Torres has 88 blocks on the season which is second best in the MIVA. 

In the previous matchup between these two squads, the Lions took down the Buckeyes in three sets on the road and picked up their first win over Ohio State on the road since March 22, 2019. Lindenwood hit .377 back on March 5, 2026 and were led by Brendan Louthain and Luke Kraft who combined for 20 of the Lions 37 kills. The win over the Buckeyes also marked the seventh win for LU in the all-time series against Ohio State.
