The Lindenwood women's golf team finished in fifth place at the Jan Weaver Invitational this weekend in Murray, Ky., compiling a team score of 897. Overall,
Jamie Daniels took second place.
OVERVIEW
The Lions opened the tournament with a season best round of 299.
Jamie Daniels led that effort with a two-under 70, including four birdies.
Paula Mariana Sanchez was next in line, shooting 75, followed by
KC Lenox and
Andrea Alvarez with a 76 and 78, respectively.
Isabella Buckley shot 79.
Lindenwood bettered its score in round two with a 296, led by
Paula Mariana Sanchez who carded a two-under 70 with the help of four birdies and three-under overall on the back nine.
Jamie Daniels buried a team-high four birdies and finished her round with a 73.
Andrea Alvarez also recorded a 73 and had two birdies. Rounding out the lineup was
Isabella Buckley with an 80 and
KC Lenox with an 82. Individually,
Meredith Colby had a season-low round of 73. After two rounds, Lindenwood sat in third place.
In the final round, Lindenwood carded a 302 as a team. Daniels concluded the tournament with her second under par round of the weekend with a 70. She picked up an eagle on hole three and had two other birdies along the way. Buckley fired a season-low round of 73, which helped her jump 10 spots on the leaderboard.
