BRENTWOOD, Tenn. –
Sam Driscoll has been named Ohio Valley Conference Player of the Week following his monster performance at the plate against Morehead State over the weekend.
Driscoll went on a tear at the plate last week, batting .727 with eight hits in 11 at-bats while scoring 10 runs. He slugged 1.909 with three home runs, two doubles, and one triple, and finished the week with an OPS of 2.659.
The freshman from Mount Zion, Illinois started the week by scoring two runs and driving in one more while adding a pair of stolen bases at SLU on Tuesday night before registering one hit and an RBI in the series opener at Morehead State.
Through the final two games at MSU, Driscoll went a combined 7-8 while scoring eight runs and batting in four. He came just a base hit short of the cycle with a double, triple, and home run on Saturday before recording two home runs on Sunday.
His two-run homer in game two was the first of his collegiate career.
