On Monday afternoon, the Ohio Valley Conference announced
Samantha Roulanaitis and
Kylee Crowder as the OVC Pitcher and Player of The Week respectively. Roulanaitis and Crowder have received their second honor over the last month, as the duo was also named the OVC Pitcher and Player of The Week back on March 30, 2026.
Roulanaitis was dominant in the circle once again for the Lions this past weekend in a sweep over SEMO, allowing one hit in three games and striking out five batters. The Sophomore from Smithton, Ill allowed zero earned runs and posted a 0.00 ERA across 7.1 innings pitched while adding her second save of the season in the series opener, before picking up her fifth win of 2026 in the series finale yesterday afternoon. Roulanaitis entered the series opener in the top of the fifth with the go-ahead run at the plate and two outs in the inning and was able to escape the jam by getting the first batter she faced to pop out. She then ended the game for the Lions by allowing no baserunners over the sixth and seventh innings while striking out two batters to secure the save for Lindenwood. On Sunday, Roulanaitis entered in the top of the fourth with the Lions trailing 3-1, and pitched the final four innings of the game without allowing a hit or a run and added three more strikeouts to her weekly and season totals. For the week, she posted a WHIP of 0.42 and lowered her season ERA to a conference-best 2.56.
Meanwhile,
Kylee Crowder led the Lions in several offensive categories this past weekend including home runs (2), RBI (6), and slugging percentage (1.200). The Senior Utility player from Belleville started the series against the Redhawks with a go-ahead grand slam in the top of the fourth inning to put Lindenwood in front by a score of 5-2, which would ultimately be the dagger in game one of the doubleheader. Crowder collected her fifth and sixth RBI of the weekend in the series finale on Sunday as she went 2-3 from the plate with a solo home run to put the Lions in front by a score of 1-0, and delivered the go-ahead run in the top of the seventh inning with an RBI single to left field to give Lindenwood the lead by a score of 4-3. On the weekend, Crowder batted .500 (5-10) from the plate, and scored a team-high five runs while swiping her 11th bag of the season in the come-from-behind 6-3 victory. The native of Belleville, Ill also had an on base percentage of .545 and finished the week with an OPS of 1.745.
Roulanaitis, Crowder, and the rest of the Lions will be back in action on Wednesday night with a midweek matchup at Saint Louis. First pitch is scheduled for 5 p.m. CT and the game will be streamed live on ESPN+.
