LEADING OFF
The Lindenwood baseball team begins postseason play against UT Martin on day one of the 2026 OVC Tournament. The winner of Tuesday's contest will advance to the double elimination bracket while the loser faces elimination. First pitch is scheduled for 12:00 p.m. from Mtn Dew Park in Marion, Illinois.

NOTES TO KNOW
  • Lindenwood enters the postseason with an overall record of 29-26 with a 13-14 mark in conference play. The Lions won five out of their last seven OVC series after starting 0-6 in league play.
  • Will Geary leads the Lions with a .321 batting average while pacing the club in hits (69), runs (39), and stolen bases (27). He also leads the team with a .465 slugging percentage with three homers, 12 doubles, and a conference leading five triples.  
  • The Lions have a staff ERA of 4.26, which is best in the OVC and 22nd best nationally. They are allowing just 3.14 walks per nine innings for the seventh lowest average in Division-I.
  • Josh Newell leads the Lions in wins with a record of 6-5. He has a 2.51 ERA with 58 strikeouts through a league-leading 93.1 innings pitched. His 2.53 ERA in OVC play is best in the conference among starting pitchers, and his 1.24 walks per nine innings average is ninth best nationally.
  • Seth Benes leads the conference in both ERA (2.33) and strikeouts (75). He has tossed at least six innings while allowing two or fewer runs and recording at least five strikeouts in five of his last six outings.
SERIES NOTES
  • Lindenwood is 7-6 all-time against UT Martin but dropped all three contests against the Skyhawks in March. The Lions allowed 32 total runs, which is tied for their most given up in an OVC series this season.
  • Lindenwood was on a six-game win streak against UTM before the sweep, having most recently defeated the Skyhawks 6-5 in last season's OVC Tournament.
  • Josh Newell and Easton Rakers combined to allow just two earned runs in the victory, while Kam Edwards, Charlie Isom-McCall, Jake Radosevich, Filip Sarota, and Tanner Simpson all recorded hits in the contest.
SCOUTING THE SKYHAWKS
  • UT Martin possesses a 26-28 overall record with an 11-15 mark in league play. They split a pair of game at SIUE last weekend before the regular season finale was cancelled due to weather.
  • The Skyhawks lead the OVC with a batting average of .320 and have scored a conference leading 425 runs.
  • TJ Grines leads the club with a batting average of .388, which is four best in the OVC, while TJ Dunsford leads the squad with 11 homers and 65 RBIs.
  • Martin also leads the conference with 144 stolen bases, which is the ninth most nationally. Grines leads the nation with 65 swiped bags.
  • The Skyhawks have a team ERA of 7.11 which ranks seventh in the OVC. They have the second fewest strikeouts in the conference (325) while allowing the second highest batting average (.312) and second most hits (597).
  • Jacob Sitton will be the likely starter on Tuesday. The senior has a 5-6 record with a 5.47 ERA while leading the team with 67 strikeouts. He allowed just one run of four hits with five strikeouts through six innings against Lindenwood on March 27th.
LAST TIME OUT
  • Lindenwood lost two of three at Southern Indiana to conclude the regular season. The Lions allowed 32 total runs in the series, which was their most given up since getting swept at UT Martin.
  • Owen Ralph has a big series at the plate, batting .800 (8-10) with three hits on Friday and a season-high four hits on Saturday. He also drove in three runs.
  • Kam Edwards also has a solid weekend, batting .462 with a triple, five runs, three RBIs and three stolen bases.
