The 2026 Lindenwood women's soccer team opens the 2026 regular season on home turf with a matchup against Bellarmine on Thursday evening. Kickoff from Dave Steward Field at Hunter Stadium is set for 7:00 p.m.
Lions Storylines
- Lindenwood begins their fifth season at the Division-I level, possessing an overall record of 30-31-16 since making the jump in 2022. The Lions have posted 10 or more wins in back-to-back years.
- LU recorded a 10-5-5 record last season, finishing third in the OVC before returning to the conference tournament final for the second consecutive year.
- Lindenwood returns a total of nine starters off last year's team, bringing back 180 of 220 (81.8%) starts from the 2025 season.
- The Lions retained all five All-OVC selections, including Mackenzie Compton, Tasneem Dizdarevic, Rachel Jackson, Allison Schrumpf, and Alysse Lamb.

Preseason Favorites
LU were selected as heavy preseason favorites in the Ohio Valley Conference's preseason poll, receiving nine out of 16 potential first-place votes, while
Caroline Ritter and
Anna Johnson were tabbed as the Lions' Players to Watch.Â
Returning Production
The Lions retained a bulk of their offensive production from last season, including
Anna Johnson who led the team with 12 points and five goals in 2025. Meanwhile,
Mackenzie Compton returns after registering 11 points (4g-3a) on a team-high 68 shots as a sophomore. In total, Lindenwood brings back 52 of last season's 59 points.Â
New Additions
Lindenwood bolstered their experience laden roster with a group of five newcomers, including three transfers and a pair of freshmen. The transfer class features
Sam Steele, who spent the previous three seasons at Idaho State, and two Creighton transfers in
Addie Dea and
Addie Wilkie. Joining the squad as first year players are
Peyton Johnson and
Lauren Hale.
About Bellarmine
- Bellarmine went 11-6-3 last season, posting an ASUN record of 4-5-1 before advancing to the semifinals of their conference tournament.
- The Knights had two players named Preseason All-ASUN, including Preseason Goalkeeper of the Year Anna Jenkins and midfielder Brenn Severence.
- Bellarmine ranked fourth in the ASUN in goals (33) and third is shots (310) last season.
- The Knights lost four of their top five point scores off 2025's roster.
Series History
Lindenwood is 1-0 all-time against Bellarmine, with the Lions securing a 1-0 win over the Knights in Louisville during the 2019 season, when both teams were members of the Division-II Great Lake Valley Conference.
