The Lindenwood Men's Soccer team got back into the win column on Wednesday night with a 7-0 shutout victory over Blackburn College. Six different players scored their first goals of the season in the win over the Beavers, with David Magalhaes leading the squad offensively in goals scored with two. The Lions took a season-high 31 shots in the contest, and had 15 of those shots on target while limiting Blackburn to just one shot throughout the game. Omar Sanderson also scored his first career goal to open the scoring and notched his first career game-winning goal.  

Lions Storylines

• Lindenwood has scored the most goals through three games among all OVC teams with 10. 
• Omar Sanderson leads the conference in shots with nine, while Luke Neely is tied for first in the conference in assists with two.
• Through three games in 2026, the Lions are outshooting their opponents 38-7 in the second half. 
• Luca Bartoni leads the OVC in points (6) and goals scored (3).

 
About Wright State

• Wright State picked up their first win of the 2026 season on Thursday, defeating Eastern Illinois by a score of 2-1. The Raiders trailed 1-0 in the 87th minute, but scored two goals in the 88th and 89th minute to complete the comeback. 
• Junior Midfielder Brian Burkett and Sophomore Midfielder Cole Trollip lead the team in points with three each. Trollip picked up three points in Wright State's win over the Panthers, while Burkett has picked up a point in two out of three games played so far this season. 
• Wright State finished last season with a record of 2-13-1. The Lions defeated the Raiders in St. Charles last season by a score of 3-0 behind Luca Bartoni scoring his first goal of the 2025 season in that contest.
