A frantic rally in the final moments of game two propelled the Lindenwood volleyball team to a sweep of visiting Benedictine, 3-0, Saturday afternoon. The win improved the Lions to 6-0 in the conference and extended their winning streak to a season best nine games.
Behind stellar play from

Ellen Fandry, Lindenwood defeated the Ravens by scores of 25-20, 29-27, 25-19.
Game one saw neither team take control until the Lions surged ahead with a 5-1 run to take an 18-14 lead.
Victoria Krause and Yoder fueled the run on back-to-back blocks and the Lions never relinquished the lead.
The Ravens engineered an 8-2 run mid way through the second game to take a commanding 21-17 lead. The Lions responded with a 6-2 run that would eventually tie the game at 23. Benedictine converted the next score, forcing game point. Over the next few minutes, the Lions staved off match point on four different occasions.
Kelsey Kennedy's kill tied the game at 27 and the Lions converted the next two points to take a decisive 2-0 lead.
Tied at 5-5 early in game three, the Lions raced ahead with a 7-3 run fueled by
Kelsey Jo Vogler and Fandry. Fandry recorded consecutive kills and Vogler added a block and a kill that would put the Lions ahead for good.
Ellen Fandry led the team with 16 kills and Yoder added nine. Defensively,
Alyssa Showers had 15 digs and
Kelsey Biggs tallied 11. Biggs also recorded 28 assists. Yoder paced the Lions with four blocks and
Kristy Dreisewerd netted three.
Lindenwood (21-6, 6-0) will have the week off before hosting the Lindenwood Classic next weekend. The No. 21 Lions' first match will be Friday, October 16, at 3:00 p.m. against William Jewell.
