The Lindenwood field hockey team fell to Ohio Wesleyan, 1-0, on Saturday. The loss dropped the Lady Lions to 0-3 on the year.
Ohio Wesleyan netted the game winner on a Lilly Jianas unassisted goal with just over four minutes remaining in the first half. From there the two teams played a defensive shutout as both teams struggled to mount anything offensively. The Lady Lions attempted just two shots on goal compared to 12 for Ohio Wesleyan. Both shots came in the second half by
Kayleigh Harrower.
One area in which Lindenwood did improve was surrendering corner kicks. Last weekend, the Lady Lions allowed 19 corner kicks to Centre College. Against Ohio Wesleyan, Lindenwood permitted just two.
Caitlin Erickson made five saves in goal for the Lady Lions, who will play Wittenberg tomorrow at 1:00 p.m.
