The Lindenwood men's and women's cross country team both finished third on Saturday at the Illinois College Invitational.
The Lions scored 63 points in the nine-team field, while the women's squad recorded 84 points in a ten-team field. Monmouth won the team championship in both races.
Three runners had top 10 individual showings on the day. On the women's side,
Tanya Chibanda finished eighth with a time of 23:42. For the men,
Raul Toscano was eighth with a time of 26:10, and
Ryan Irvine was ninth just a second slower.
Rounding out the top five for the men were
Will Everett, Josh Schmidt, and
Blake Austin. Everett had a time of 26:46 and finished 14th, Schmidt ran the course in 26:50 and placed 15th, and Austin was 17th with a time of 27:05.
Rachel Hemphill was second on the women's team with a time of 24:27, and she was 16th overall.
Courtney Heidorn was 18th with a time of 24:35.
Jessica Ching had a time of 25:15 and finished 23rd, and
Kacey Denny was 28th with a mark of 25:36.
