The Lindenwood men's and women's cross country teams competed in the Silver Race at the Greater Louisville Classic on Saturday. Against the largest field that the two squads ran against so far this year, the men's team finished fourth while the women's team had a seventh-place showing.
The men's squad had a high finish thanks to its top four runners having high finishes.
Ben McGraw led the team with a 21st individual showing. He ran the 8,000m race in 26:58. The next three Lions were all between 27:15 and 27:22.
Raul Toscano was 28th overall,
Blake Austin was 31st, and
Ryan Irvine came in 33rd. The fifth person for the team score was
Shane Watts who came in 106th with a time under 29 minutes.
Tanya Chibanda on the women's squad had the best Lindenwood individual showing as she came in 20th overall. She ran the 5,000m race in a time of 20:03. After Chibanda, the next four Lady Lions were more spread out than the men's team.
Courtney Heidorn was 31st overall with a time of 20:49 and
Rachel Hemphill also broke 21 minutes and came in 38th.
Ai Shinohara was 64th with a mark of 21:28 and
Caitlyn Sandquist came in 93rd with a mark of 22:07.
