The Lindenwood cross country teams ended its regular season on Saturday at the NAIA Mid-States Classic. The men's team finished seventh out of 20 teams and the women came in 10th out of 23 squads.
The men's team had 245 points in its 8,000m competition. Wayland Baptist finished first with 32.
Ryan Irvine and
Blake Austin paced the Lions with Irvine finishing in a time of 27:34 and Austin coming in four seconds later. Irvine was 47th overall and Austin was 49th. Also scoring for the Lions were
Raul Toscano, Josh Schmidt, and
Shane Watts. Toscano was 61st with a time of 28:02, Schmidt was 74th with a mark of 28:30, and
Shane Watts came in 92nd with a time of 28:53.
Lindenwood had 311 points in the 5,000m women's competition which was won by Kansas Wesleyan with 66 points.
Tanya Chibanda led the Lady Lions with a time of 19:38 and she placed 14th.
Rachel Hemphill finished 51st with a time of 20:38. The trio of
Ai Shinohara,
Kacey Denny, and
Jessica Ching finished in a pack around the 22 minute mark and all three placed just under 100.
Lindenwood will be off next week before competition in the HAAC Championships on Nov. 6.
