The Lindenwood men's soccer team was edged out Saturday night in a high-scoring affair against conference opponent Baker, losing by a score of 4-3.
The difference in the game was a three-goal outburst by Baker in a nine-minute span in the second-half. The Wildcats tied the game in the 59th minute and led by two goals by the 68th minute.
Both teams netted one goal in the first half with Lindenwood's coming from
Victor Buchim. The Lions then took the lead early in the second when
Radomir Papric found the back of the net. After Baker went up 4-2, neither team scored again until a late goal by Lindenwood's
Tiago Baptista Perei with less than five minutes remaining.
Lindenwood outshot Baker by a 17-12 margin in the game and put more shots on goal by an 11-7 margin.
Victor Francoz took the loss in goal, recording three saves and allowing four goals.
With the loss, the Lions fall to 10-5-0, including a 3-3-0 conference record. Their next game comes on Wednesday when they travel to face Central Methodist.
