Storyline
The 2010 season has started off with a bang for the Lions as they have won their first seven games of the season. The perfect record will be put on the line this weekend when the team travels to Lubbock, Texas to take on the No. 1 team in the country and defending NAIA National Champions, Lubbock Christian. The Chaparrals will be the Lions biggest test so far this season but they have started the season just 4-4. The road games continue as this weekend's series will be games eight through 11 for the Lions.

Last Week's Results
After a perfect opening trip the Lions were back on the road last weekend to take on the Bacone Warriors. Lindenwood picked right up where they left off beating the Warriors in all three games.

In game one, the Lions won 5-2 with help from their starter Zach Malawey who scored his second win in as many starts. Malawey struck out nine in only five innings. Justin Lamar was 3-for-4 at the plate and Frank Corpus hit his first homerun of the season while driving in three runs.

Game two the pitching was spectacular. The Lions won the game 10-0 in only five innings as starter Evan Vinyard went all five innings and struck out 12. The starter on the hill in game one, Malwey, came off the bench and hit a pinch-hit grandslam. Cody Anderson also got into the act with a pair of homeruns.

The series finale was a nine inning affair and Lindenwood continued their dominance with a 10-2 win. Bryant Hollingsworth made his Lindenwood debut going five innings and only surrendering two hits. First baseman Shelby Anderson was 2-for-4 at the dish with a homerun and five RBIs.

Roaring Start
The 7-0 start for the team is one of the best in school history. The last time the team was close to this type of start was in 2007 when they began the season 5-0.

Roaring Start II
Catcher Anthony Dallosto has begun the season with hits in all but one game. He leads the team in hits (nine) and batting average (.450).

Rankings
The 2009 season ended with the Lions being ranked 15th and at the start of the 2010 season they are ranked 12th which is the highest of any HAAC school.

Road Warriors
The Lions begin their season with a long 15 game road trip away from the Lou Brock Sports Complex. The road has been kind so far for the team as they have began 7-0. During the 2009 campaign road games were very friendly to the Lions. The team would go 27-4 which was the best road record in the conference and one of the best in the country.
Piling Up The Ks

In the first seven games this season the Lion pitching staff has already struck out 59 hitters which ranks them third in the country. In all but three games the pitching staff has struck out double-digit hitters.

Going The Distance
Already this season the team has two compete games. Zach Malwey and Evan Vinyard each have a complete game. A year ago the Lions compiled nine complete games.

Goin' Deep
Homeruns have come in bunches for the squad this season. The team has hit a total of eight homeruns compared to their opponents three. Three times this season the team has hit more than one long ball.

The Andersons
Shelby and Cody Anderson have started the season on fire. Cody Anderson is hitting .364 with two homeruns and four RBIs. Shelby Anderson is even hotter. He has already hit four homeruns, which ranks him first in the country, drove in 10 runs and, is hitting .333.

Cashing In
When the Lions reach base and get in scoring position the team rarely passes on the opportunity to drive in runs. Lindenwood is hitting .340 with runners on base, compared to its opponents who are hitting .141.

Scoring First
Getting on the scoreboard early has been very advantageous for the Lions in the early part of the season. In all seven wins the squad has scored the first runs of the game. Four out of the seven games, the team has scored a run in the opening inning.

HAAC Champs
For the second consecutive year the Lions were the HAAC Champs. In 2009 they complied a 32-8 conference record and also won four straight games in the conference tournament to be crowned the tourney champs.

Scouting Lubbock Christian
The defending national champions have started off the season with a 4-4 record. In all four doubleheaders they have played in the Chaps have won the first game and fell in game two. The team is coming off a 1-1 series against NCAA Division II, Angelo State.
