The No. 3 Lindenwood women's lacrosse team had its home and conference opener on Saturday afternoon at Hunter Stadium and came away with a 21-7 victory over Wisconsin.
Laura Boland led Lindenwood with three goals and five assists. All three goals came in the first half as she helped the Lady Lions jump out to an 11-4 halftime lead.
Justiene Groothuis also scored three times in the half and
Kathryn St. George had two scores.
For the game,
Ashley Bruce,
Bailey Segboer,
Brittany Connolly,
Kristen Papadakos, and
Ana Gullett all scored twice. Other goals came from
Jackie Henke,
Eleni Papadakos, and
Meghan Chase.
Christina Corcoran guarded the net in the first half and
Caitlin Erickson was the goalie in the second half.
Lindenwood improves to 5-1 on the year, including a forfeit win versus Northwestern for a game that was also suppose to be played on Saturday. The team travels to Miami (Ohio) next Wednesday for its next contest.
