The Lindenwood women's tennis team fell to NCAA Division III, Washington University on the road Wednesday, 7-2.
The contest started with Bears winning on all three doubles matches in convincing fashion. Washington's No. 1 doubles team of Kate Klein and Karina Kocemba beat
Allison Gilles and
Severine DeBeuf, 8-2.
Jaclyn Bild and Elise Sambol earned a 8-2 win over
Raminta Kazemekaityte and Angela Slovakova. To wrap up the doubles portion of the match Allison Dender and Kalee Cassady beat Lindenwood's team of Racehl Bailey and
Sarah Sharpe.
The singles portion of the match-up was also won by the Bears, 4-2. The Lady Lions two wins came from Sharpe and Andrea Aguilar, who each won their matches, 6-2, 6-1.
The No. 1 singles match saw Slovakova fall to Klein, 6-1, 6-2 and the No. 2 singles also went to the Bears with Bild beating Gilles, 6-4, 6-1. Washington University would also take the final two matches with Paige Madara defeating DeBeuf, 6-2, 6-0 and Kocemba upending Kazemekaityte, 6-0, 6-1.
Lindenwood will now go on a six match road trip through Florida starting on March 28th against Northwood University.
