The Lindenwood Women's Tennis team wrapped up their first Fall tournament of the 2026-27 season on Saturday at the Lindenwood Invite. The Lions defeated SIUE in singles play on Friday by a score of 4-3 and split their doubles matches against the Cougars, going 1-1. Lindenwood also went 3-1 against Wash U in doubles play to complete day one.
In the win over the Cougars in singles play, newcomers Sofia Loglo and Danielle Wei picked up straight-set victories in their Lindenwood debuts. Loglo defeated SIUE's Aliya Rector by a score of 6-3, 7-5, while Wei won her match over Emerson Metzger in dominant fashion, 6-1, 6-2. Sarah Ben Aba and Megan Caffin solidified the Lions' victory over SIUE, with Caffin defeating Jessica Li 6-4, 6-0 and Ben Aba earning a 6-4, 6-2 victory over Jacinta Villalobos.
Wei added her second win of the day in doubles play alongside Mathilde Humbert, as the duo defeated SIUE's Emerson Metzger and Aliya Rector by a score of 6-2.
Lindenwood continued their success in doubles play against Wash U, as Megan Caffin and Paola Garcia swept Leila Epstein and Cassan Li, 6-0, while Fabiana Labrador and Sofia Loglo defeated Lily Brecknock and Emelie Lew, 6-3. Labrador and Loglo picked up their second doubles win as a duo in the second round against Wash U, earning a close 7-6 (8-6) victory over Cassan Li and Lily Brecknock.
On Saturday, Haylen Hughes picked up her first win of the Fall with an 8-5 singles victory over Wash U's Sam Slowik. Paola Garcia followed with Lindenwood's second singles win of day two with a straight-set victory over Wash U's Lily Brecknock, winning 6-3, 6-3.
In doubles play, Sofia Loglo added her third doubles win of the weekend, as she and Garcia defeated SIUE's Elena Palioura and Jessica Li by a score of 7-5.
Lindenwood will return to action for its second tournament of the Fall season on Friday, September 25, at the Ohio Valley Conference Championships in Evansville, Indiana.
