The Lindenwood Women's Tennis team competed at the 2026 OVC Fall Championships in Evansville, Indiana this weekend with the Lions earning multiple quarterfinal and semifinal appearances across singles and doubles play.
In the A Flight singles draw, Fabiana Labrador and Sofia Loglo each advanced to the semifinals. Labrador opened the tournament with a 6-3, 6-4 victory over Southern Indiana's Sofia Davidoff before defeating SEMO's Maja Bajorek in the quarterfinals in three sets by a score of 6-1, 3-6, 1-0 (9). Labrador's run came to an end in the semifinals against Bryant's Yahli Noy, 2-6, 7-5, 0-1 (2).
Loglo also reached the A Flight semifinals after defeating Southern Indiana's Anais Negrail, 6-4, 6-4, in the opening round and SEMO's Maria Drag, 6-2, 7-5, in the quarterfinals. She fell to SIUE's Elena Palioura, 3-6, 4-6, in the semifinal round.
In the B Flight, Paola Garcia advanced to the quarterfinals after defeating Southern Indiana's Rylie Wilkison, 6-3, 6-1. Garcia's run ended against SEMO'ss Yontha Tadoum, who earned a 6-2, 6-1 quarterfinal victory. Sarah Ben Aba competed in the C Flight, reaching the quarterfinal round before falling to Western Illinois' Nadezhda Petkova by a three set score of 6-0, 3-6, 0-1 (6). Ben Aba bounced back in consolation play with a 6-0, 6-2 victory over Southern Indiana's Claire Meyer.
In the A Flight doubles, Paola Garcia and Sofia Loglo advanced to the quarterfinals after defeating Southern Indiana's Anais Negrail and Marian Hayes, 6-2. The Lindenwood duo fell to SIUE's Jessica Li and Elena Palioura, 4-6, in the quarterfinal round.
Fabiana Labrador and Megan Caffin also competed in the A Flight doubles draw, falling to Bryant's Yahli Noy and Ana Mitevska, 5-7, before earning a 6-0 consolation victory over SEMO's Yontha Tadoum and Plen De Greef.
In the B Flight doubles, Danielle Wei and Haylen Hughes advanced to the championship match. The Lindenwood duo defeated SEMO's Maria Drag and Chia-Ling Tsao, 6-3, in the semifinals before falling to SIUE's Aliya Rector and Emerson Metzger, 3-6, in the championship match.
The Lions' performances included two A Flight singles semifinal appearances from Labrador and Loglo, a B Flight singles quarterfinal appearance from Garcia, an A Flight doubles quarterfinal appearance from Garcia and Loglo, and a runner-up finish from Wei and Hughes in B Flight doubles.
Lindenwood will end their Fall season in the middle of October when they travel to the ITA Regional Championships in Memphis, Tennessee. The tournament will begin on Thursday, October 15 and will conclude on Monday, October 19.
