Cross Country Runs Against Local Competitors

The Lindenwood cross country teams took a short trip on Saturday to compete in the Maryville Invitational. The women's team finished third and the men's team came in fourth in fields made up of local colleges.

On the women's side, Lindenwood had 89 team points and just missed runner-up honors by five. Ai Shinohara was the leading runner for the Lions by coming in 18th with a time of 22:25. Tanya Chibanda and Annabelle Delarue were 29th and 30th, respectively. Chibanda had a time of 23:52 and Delarue finished in 24:16. The fourth-place runner on the team was Alexis Gutterman who was 33rd with a time of 24:22. The final scorer was Kacey Denny who was 43rd overall with a mark of 25:13.

The men's squad had 86 points and was only 10 points away from a second-place finish. Leading the way was Ben McGraw who finished 11th overall with a time of 29:42. Ryan Irvine was close behind with a time of 29:52 which was good for 14th. Blake Austin had a top 25 finish with a time of 30:28. Rounding out the team's top five were Raoul Toscano, who was 28th with a time of 30:41, and Will Everett, who was 39th with a time of 31:15.
