Women's Volleyball Announces Four Signees for the 2012 Season

Lindenwood Lady Lions volleyball head coach Ron Young announced today that four players have signed to play for the program next season. Sara Gregor, Kayla Guyot, Nicole Hallam, and Allison Waldvogel will begin their Lindenwood careers during the 2012 season.

Sara Gregor, a 6'0” middle blocker, will graduate from Hazelwood West High School this spring. During her time at Hazelwood West, Gregor was the Suburban North Conference Player of the Year in 2011 and she earned first-team all-conference honors in 2010. She was an all-district selection both of those seasons. She led her team to back-to-back district and conference championships in 2010 and 2011. Gregor played her club volleyball for St. Louis High Performance.

Kayla Guyot will graduate from St. James Academy. The six-foot middle hitter led St. James to four Kansas 4A State Championships, including a 2010 PrepVolleyball.com National Championship. In her senior year, Guyot was an All-State selection, led her team in hitting percentage and block assists, and finished fifth in all-time blocks at St. James. Guyot finished in the top-five percent of her class and also played softball, where she was first-team Kansas City Metro. She played her club volleyball for Kansas City Extreme and Performance Volleyball Academy.

Nicole Hallam is a Missouri native and will graduate from Republic High School in 2012. As an outside hitter, Hallam was an All-State, All-Region, and All-District selection her junior and senior years. She also was a state sectional finalist from 2008-2011 along with earning her high school's award for Offensive Player of the Year. Hallam played her club volleyball for Springfield Juniors and Midwest Xplosion where they qualified for the USAV Nationals the past three years.

Allison Waldvogel is a defensive specialist from Plainfield, Ill., where she attends Plainfield South High School. Waldvogel was awarded the Southwest Prairie first-team all-conference award during her junior and senior years. She also finished in the top-five percent of her class and will graduate as a member of the National Honors Society. As well as being an avid sand volleyball player, Waldvogel played club volleyball for Alliance, Club Fusion, and Great Lakes powerhouse Sports Performance.

The women's volleyball team finished its season with a 27-13 overall record and won the Locos Grill Transition Tournament. Lindenwood will join the NCAA Division II Mid-America Intercollegiate Athletics Association in 2012.
