Women's Lacrosse Picks Up Win Over NCAA Division II Opponent

Lindenwood women's lacrosse picked up an 18-3 victory over NCAA Division II Mesa State on Thursday night at Hunter Stadium.

The Lady Lions scored eight unanswered goals to go up 12-1 midway through the second half. Lindenwood then scored six more times in the final 12 minutes of the game to complete the victory over the Mavericks.

Kara Cashen led the offense with four goals. Lexi Crusha, Klaysa Fitzpatrick, and Kathryn St. George all had three goals apiece. Other goals came from Meghan Chase, Bailey Segboer, and Ana Gullett.

Defensively, Christine Hehmeyer made seven saves in goals and Cashen had a team-high five groundballs.

Lindenwood improves to 3-1 on the season. Mesa State is 0-1 after playing the inaugural game in its program's history. 

The Lady Lions will host Savannah College of Art and Design on Sunday at 12:30 p.m.
