The Lindenwood men's lacrosse team overcame an early deficit and picked up a 13-8 conference victory over Illinois State on Sunday at Hunter Stadium.
Illinois State jumped out to a 5-2 lead late in the first quarter, but Lindenwood outscored the Cardinals 7-2 the rest of the half. The Lions' defense allowed just one goal in each of the final three quarters to help Lindenwood get the victory.
Carter McCracken led the offense with four goals and three assists. He scored the first three Lindenwood tallies to help the team stay in the game in the first quarter.
John Pettis and
Richard Wilson dominated the faceoffs, combining to win 25 of 26.
Adam Ure made 13 saves in goal.
Lindenwood improves to 8-1 overall and it has now won five straight. The Lions begin a four-game Florida road trip next Sunday with a contest at Florida State.
