Lions Win MAMVIC West Tournament and Earn Bid into NAIA Nationals

The Lindenwood men's volleyball team came into the MAMVIC West tournament ranked as the No. 1 seed, and finished as the tournament champion after beating Park in four games on Saturday afternoon. The Lions won the match with scores of 25-21, 23-25, 25-20, and 25-19.

Leading the way for Lindenwood was Bradley Johnston, recording 10 kills, eight digs, and three aces, all of which were team-highs. Also leading the offense, Matt Schmack had 10 kills and Mike Warren added nine. Warren played well defensively, totaling five blocks, while Luke Knowlson led the team with seven. Contributing the assists for the Lions were Mike Larson with 21 and Carson Grissinger with 16. Both Larson and Grissinger each served two aces in the victory.

With the win, Lindenwood improved its overall to 23-8 and received an automatic bid into the 2011 NAIA Men's Volleyball National Invitational Tournament starting on April 14th in Davenport, Iowa. The Lions won the national tournament in 2009 when they defeated California Baptist.
