Lions Win Game One But Game Two Suspended

The Lindenwood Lions baseball team is playing their final regular-season HAAC series against the Evangel Crusaders in Springfield, Mo. The Lions won game one 8-3 and game two was suspended by rain in the fourth inning with Evangel leading 1-0.

In the opening game, the Lions jumped out to an early lead scoring seven runs in the first inning. Lindenwood added another run in the second inning to take an 8-0 lead. Evangel was able to score a run in the third, one in the fifth, and one more in the seventh.

The Lions outhit the Crusaders 11-8 and Lindenwood committed two errors to the Crusaders one. Mike Moore led the Lions at the plate going three for four with two RBIs, and also hit his seventh homerun of the season.  Crispin Tarango and Zach Loraine also both hit a homerun.

Zach Pearman started on the hill for the Lions and won his ninth game of the season.

Game two started but after four innings the game was suspended due to rain. The Lions were trailing 1-0 when the rain started. The suspended game will resume at 9:00 a.m. Friday morning. Games three and four will take place on Friday as well.
