Men's Lacrosse Falls In First Round Of MCLA National Tournament

The Lindenwood men's lacrosse team saw its 2011 season come to an end on Tuesday with a 16-8 loss to Michigan in the first round of the MCLA National Championship Tournament in Denver, Colo.

The Lions held a 4-3 lead late in the first half against the number one seed and defending national champions. The Wolverines though struck three times in the final 2:30 of the first half and took a 6-4 lead into halftime.

Michigan continued that momentum by scoring the game's only four goals in third quarter. Lindenwood scored three times early in the fourth quarter to pull within 10-7, but Michigan answered with six straight goals to seal the victory.

Greg Cameron led the offense with three goals and an assist. Tyler Davis had three points with two goals and an assist. Other goals came from Andrew Peterson, Jordan McKay, and McNein Hewitt.

Lindenwood ends its season with a 16-7 all-time record. The Lions finish their final season in the MCLA and will start a full NCAA schedule in 2012.
