Fourth-Ranked Massachusetts-Lowell Overpowers Lindenwood Field Hockey

The Lindenwood field hockey team was beaten 9-0 by the University of Massachusetts-Lowell on Friday afternoon at Cushing Field. Lowell is currently ranked fourth in the nation at the Division II level.

The River Hawks held a 6-0 advantage at halftime, and continued their dominance into the second half, adding three more. The home team had five different goal scorers in the game.

Samantha Brown got the start in goal for Lindenwood, making two saves. Julianne Sutton relieved Brown at the end of the first half, playing the final 39 minutes and making five saves.

The River Hawks outshot the Lady Lions by a 22-5 margin, and also maintained a 10-2 advantage in penalty corners.

Lindenwood (0-5) will stay in Massachusetts to take on American International in Springfield at 4 pm on Saturday.
